The difference between real estate agents and realtors.
What are the differences between real estate agents and realtors? Many people think that those terms are used interchangeably and that they mean the same thing. However, this is not true as there are some differences between the two.
Both real estate agents and realtors must be licensed to negotiate and transact the sale of real estate. Both usually have a thorough knowledge of the real estate market, are familiar with local zoning and tax laws and know where to obtain financing.
However, to be designated as a realtor, agents must become a member of the National Association of Realtors and adhere to the NAR's strict code of ethics.
