Countrywide Mortgage
Countrywide Mortgage is one of the largest home loan companies in the United States. Also known as Countrywide Financial Corporation and Countrywide Home Loans Inc., they have become one of the leading authorities in the mortgage arena.
Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Calabasas, California, Countrywide Mortgage has shown substantial growth over their 35 year history. A company that started out as many others do, in a single building, has grown to employ 42,141 as of December, 2004.
The financial results for 2004 were impressive as well for Countrywide Mortgage. According to Angelo R. Mozilo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the loan giant, last year's stats were the "second best" in the company's history. Loan fundings for consumer markets in 2004 totaled over $9.28 billion, as a result of some of the lowest interest rates in years.
Countrywide Mortgage is a member of the elite S&P 500, Forbes 2000 and Fortune 500 clubs.
